It’s Presidents Day in the U.S. I know many of you are with your families on a long weekend holiday. I thought that I’d offer some words of wisdom from, not just past U.S. Presidents, but also other world leaders. I am intentionally not noting recent Presidents or leaders.

“You cannot shake hands with a clenched fist”  Indira Ghandi

“The best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good men to do what he wants done, and the self-restraint enough to keep from meddling with them while they do it.”  Theodore Roosevelt

“It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate when nice things occur.”  Nelson Mandela

“In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock.”  Thomas Jefferson

“If you set out to be liked, you would be prepared to compromise on anything at any time, and you would achieve nothing.”  Margaret Thatcher

“Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other.”  Abraham Lincoln

Just a smattering of wisdom from a small handful of people who have had an awesome accountability in our history!
