I’m on vacation this week in Montauk, NY. We are fishing in the surf for striped bass and bluefish; and, I am reading The Shadow of Kilimanjaro by Rick Ridgeway. For this week, I will leave you with a quote:
Think of your life in nature—daily to be shown matter, to come in contact with it,—rocks, trees, wind in our cheeks! the solid earth! the actual world! the common sense! Contact! Contact!
—Henry David Thoreau
Find time this week to really be “in” nature. Maybe, you can stop and watch the water on the ferry home. Or, notice the tree in front of your house that is slightly turning colors. And, maybe you’ll find the blessing, the rest, in your observation.
